Parent Avengers were included the September 4, 2020, education conversation at the Westside Future Fund Summit. The discussion included parent engagement, and bridging the digital divide. See Video
Founder Ms.Sherry Bellille, was joined by rapper Waka Flocka long with his mother at Magnolia apartments, to provide needed supplies, and food for Westside Vine City residents.
Parent Avengers partnered with the Caribbean American Cultural Arts Foundation to offer art therapy for kids. The art pieces were given to first responders and seniors in the community.
Sherry Bellille, co-founder of Parent Avengers, joined other community non-profits on the Westside of Atlanta in 2019. She shared a common vision echoed throughout the Summit by each nonprofit represented on the panel: “I want to help residents stay in the community, secure our schools, preserve our culture and make neighbors unified,” she said. Parent Avengers are Atlanta Public School parents grounded in the Vine City community. Parent Avengers work with neighborhood organizations and schools such as Booker T. Washington
Cluster (BTW), and Hollis Innovation Academy. Their strategic partnerships
allow them to sincerely and effectively reach the community.
Parent Avengers connects to growing diverse residents in the area. The parents include African American, and Hispanic parents who live in the growing Vine City community. Families benefit from the services, resources, and camaraderie from the organization.
